Botox

Botox is the most common non-surgical aesthetic procedure. It is a live toxin vaccine obtained from Clostridium botulinum bacteria. Botulinum toxin A is popularly known by the generic name of the drug, botox. It causes temporary  periodic paralysis of the injected muscle. Due to this feature, it is used in low doses for aesthetic purposes. Botox is done by injecting the toxin into the subcutaneous and facial muscles. A very fine needle tip is used for the procedure, anesthesia is not required. The application time is 10-15 minutes. At the end of the procedure, pain is not felt. Patients can return to their daily life after the application. It is not appropriate to go to the sauna or sports on the day of Botox application.

Three days should be waited for skin care. There is no obstacle in its application, except for pregnant and lactating women. Its effect starts at approximately 72 hours and takes its final form on the 14th day. Average duration of effect is 4-6 months.

It is used by plastic surgeons to remove wrinkles, reduce sweating and support migraine treatment. The most common application area; Forehead lines and crow’s feet lines. There is a decrease in mimics in the area where the injection is made.
